Description
A creamy, chocolatey milkshake made without ice cream using simple pantry ingredients—perfect for a refreshing treat that’s rich, healthy, and dairy-optional.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large frozen bananas, sliced
- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt or coconut cream
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Add frozen banana slices, cocoa powder, sweetener, yogurt (or coconut cream), vanilla, and salt to a blender.
- Pour in the milk and blend on low to start, gradually increasing to high speed.
- Add ice cubes and blend again until thick, smooth, and creamy.
- Adjust sweetness or thickness as desired by adding more milk or sweetener.
- Pour into glasses and serve immediately. Optionally, top with whipped coconut cream or shaved dark chocolate.
Notes
Frozen bananas create a creamy base that mimics ice cream. To make ahead, freeze ingredients in portioned bags and blend when ready. Great for kids and customizable with nut butters, mint, or espresso powder.
